Description

A reference guide of methods and techniques for UX practice. The methods in the app are foundational techniques that can be used during stages of the UX process.

Techniques have been grouped into five distinct project phases, or activities that can be successively tackled to create great user experiences: Gather, Organize, Understand, Explain and Test, with reasoning for Why, When and How they can be used as part of your UX process.

All methods are searchable within the app supporting the ability to quickly discover interesting and effective ways to resolve UX design challenges.
The methods can form the building blocks of any UX process. How and when they should be used is up to you.

This version edition of the app contains fifteen methods (3 for each activity group)

Each card contains a link to further detail on the subject. You can also export individual card text to email and access the UX Techniques twitter feed where we will be providing support for the application.

We hope you enjoy using the app to resolve design challenges and eagerly await your feedback and contributions to help grow and sustain this valuable resource for the UX community.

From a recent review in Johnny Holland magazine: "...the cards themselves are quite helpful. In my review of the application, I came across a few methods I was less familiar with or had forgotten about entirely. The real benefit comes from the supporting links. Each card has a link to additional information viewable from your iPhone, whether it is a link to UIE or Boxes and Arrows, the authors have located a valuable and more detailed source for further investigation. This is an added detail not provided in all other UX reference guides."
